Established 1955
Seven decades of neighbors protecting neighbors across McLennan County.
Our story
Since 1955, Elm Mott Fire Rescue — Station 36 — has been a volunteer department answering the call across Elm Mott, Chalk Bluff, and Lincoln City. What began as a handful of committed residents has grown into a two-station operation covering roughly 40 square miles of rural McLennan County.
As neighboring departments closed their doors, Elm Mott stepped up to take on their areas — today our crews answer all 911 calls across that expanded coverage from two stations: Station 1 at 109 W Leo St in Elm Mott and Station 2 at 136 Alex Gill Ln in Waco. That footprint includes a seven-mile stretch of Interstate 35, where we respond to highway wrecks alongside the structure fires, grass fires, and medical calls that come with protecting a growing Central Texas community.
What guides us
Two staffed stations keep response times short across a wide rural footprint.
Our members serve their own community without pay, giving their time and training freely.
We steward every donation and grant dollar toward equipment, training, and readiness.
